We'll also talk about his work editing and writing series for print and television, his experiences with the TV showBeauty and The Beast, and his current projects.

We present a classic production of The Holloween Tree. Ray Bradbury's tribute to the season, read by the author, with Mike Hodel and Ruth Buell. There's a new edition of The Holloween Tree with illustrations by Joseph Mugnaini, published by Alfred A. Knopf. Tonight's show will extend into the We Hours and will end at 1:00 AM, when their guests will be poets Exene Cervenka and Ellen Maybe.

Warren James talks with Steven Barnes who was one of the hosts of Hour25 until he moved out of state. Steve returns to tell of his further adventures, his current projects include his new book - Blood Brothers,and his thoughts on life and writing.

Science non-fiction, Area 51, and looking for secret airplanes - Host Warren James talks with Bill Sweetman, author of Aurora: The Pentagon's Secret Hypersonic Airplane, and science writers Stuart Brown, former editor of Popular Science, and Mike Dornheim, editor of Aviation Week.

The 23rd LosCon begins at the Burbank Airport Hilton. Guests of honor are author Harry Turtledove and artist Vincent diFate, and many well known westcoast writers participate. Hour 25 will record at the convention for broadcast at our regular time.

Author K.W. Jeter talks on tape with host Warren James, about his new book Replicant Night, which follows Bladerunner 2: The Edge of Human, and about writing in Philip K. Dick's Bladerunner universe.

Author Harry Turtledove, who's alternate history novels include Guns of the South and (with Richard Dreyfus) The Two Georges, discusses the latest book in his current series, Worldwar: Striking the Balance, with interviewer Warren James.

The future of cities - some ideas for having good air, water, food and housing, from Lois Arkin, one of the editors of the book Sustainable Cities. Her pilot project, the, Los Angeles Eco-Village is at work in the inner city on strategies for a livable future. She and fellow villager Joe Linton talk with hosts Terry Hodel and Sandy Rymer.
